Hello Cabaret


Hello Cabaret is a monthly event that celebrates musical theatre and Welsh talent through intimate performances of show tunes and contemporary stories. Founded by musical director and creative genius Dan Fulham, this event brings together passionate, promising individuals to showcase their talent in venues throughout Cardiff and Swansea. April’s event took place in Cardiff’s heart and hub of musical theatre, the Wales Millennium Centre. The evening was packed with exciting performances from artists Hywel Dowsell, Jac Yarrow, Lloyd Macey, Millie Davies, Lois Meleri, and Caitlin McKee; featuring a varied collection of songs from shows such as Spamalot, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Avenue Q, and the show-stopping Rent. The cast of the UK touring production of Rent even joined these artists for a one-off late night set, making the evening even more unique and memorable. Hello Cabaret is definitely one of South Wales’ hidden gems and is not to be missed!

Bernard Poyser | A Great Cardiffian

Just like everyone that knew Bernard Poyser we was devastated to hear of his sudden passing this month. Bernard was a great supporter of any event we was involved in, along with his wife Sandra and daughter Mel he volunteered every year at The Great Roath Bake Off and attended every RoathRocks gig. It was only a month ago he attended Nathan's  exhibition in the city centre, causing chaos as he manoeuvred his mobility scooter in the small exhibition area. Bernie was the life and soul of the party, always telling jokes and always laughing. We will miss the laughs, we will miss the jokes and the singing, your tales of the swinging sixties often had us in shock but always hysterics. Grey at The Hilton Cardiff

Hotel restaurants often lack personality and quite frankly good food but to say we were pleasantly surprised with Grey at The Hilton is a major understatement. It's manager Pasquale Manganiello has achieved something quite unique with Grey, it has all the loveliness of a family run Bistro with friendly staff and food that can only be described as amazing.

The menu is varied and there is something for everyone. It covers all tastes including great vegetarian options. There's a fantastic selection of seafood dishes too and the portion sizes will please those with a big appetite. When food is this good size does matter.


The daily 'Specials' included lamb Cawl, always a dodgy option because nobody makes Cawl like your mum right? Well this Cawl was the best I've ever had (don't tell my mum). I recommend anyone visiting Wales to visit Grey to try this famous Welsh dish, you won't be disappointed.
